Stainless steel production 36.7 MMT in 2020

The International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF) has released figures for the first nine months of 2020 showing that stainless steel melt shop production decreased by 7.8% year–on–year to 36.7 million metric tons.

New stainless steel road bridge at Pooley Bridge

The UK’s first stainless steel road bridge was officially opened in October over the River Eamont at Pooley Bridge. Measuring 128ft long, the landmark structure reconnects the Ullswater valley with a permanent new bridge to replace the 18th century stone structure destroyed during Storm Desmond in December 2015.The new bridge at Pooley Bridge is now open to traffic and pedestrians.
