Schutz to win Speller award at NACE 2003

NACE International will honour Ronald W. Schutz with the Frank Newman Speller Award on 16 March at Corrosion 2003, the organisations 58th annual conference, to be held at San Diego, California. Each year the NACE Speller Award recognises significant contributions to corrosion engineering.
Ronald W. Schutz is recognised for his outstanding work in the development of corrosion-resistant metallic materials for use in industrial applications and for the development of test methods and guidelines for their use. Mr Schutz, corporate specialist in industrial technology for RMI Titanium Company of Niles, Ohio, has worked in the titanium industry for over 27 years and is recognised as a world leader in his field, including research and development of titanium alloys. He has written over 80 technical papers and four technical reference book chapters on the subject of titanium alloy corrosion behaviour and mechanisms, application and performance guidelines, and new applications for titanium alloys.
