Polysoude has created new, more productive and ergonomic high tech weld heads, setting a new technological standard for automated orbital TIG welding. The new orbital welding heads make tube to tubesheet welding and tube-tube welding especially easy for the operator. The TS 8/75 is low in weight, compact in shape, and features ergonomic double grip with integrated control buttons suitable for clamping and welding. The pneumatically operated clamping/centring system allows for several welding heads to work simultaneously. The new welding head has a long service life and operating times in its stride with the closed cooling water circuit. A collector supplies the continuously rotating torch with power, shielding gas and cooling water. The tube/tubesheet welding head is also suitable for making joints on heat exchangers, including steam generators in power stations, cooling in air-conditioning systems and heating systems, and sterilisation in the food industry. Several thousand identical joints are often required in these applications, making an automated welding process the more cost-effective method with the lowest defect rate. With Polysoude joining systems the defect rate is almost zero and includes all basic materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, titanium, zirconium, or duplex.
