New welding equipment from Air Liquide

At Schweissen und Schneiden (Essen, 12–18 September 2001) Air Liquide Welding will exhibit to industries using welding and cutting techniques. The emphasis will be on user comfort: welding consumables with low fume emission, low-noise heating torch CIBEL with noise reduction of 20 dB compared with a standard torch, with noise reduction in manual welding in pulsed mode TIG installation ADMIRAL 500 AC/DC and MIG equipment SAFMIG Tri. Also presented will be more ergonomic installations such as pulsed MIG/MAG installations with pre-set parameters (that can however be more finely tuned by the welder) OPTIPULS i / OPTIMAG, flame equipment blowpipe and torch for cutting, welding and heating (SPEEDFIRE), offering pre-set parameters with immediate ignition and shut-off. Memorisation of settings is also a very convenient feature. Improvement of productivity is offered by the MIG/MAG installations SAFMIG TRi with patented new device, the spray-modal enabling elimination of porosity in aluminium welding; two wire TOPMAG installation allowing a large improvement in welding speed; and hybrid laser/plasma process combining advantages of laser quality welding with less accurate preparations allowed by the plasma process. Applications include naval construction, boiler making, energy, automotive and railway, new developments providing higher quality especially in the cutting of thin stainless steel plates.
