New power source from Orbital Welding

Portability and mobility mark the new PS 164 orbital tube and pipe welding power source, an addition to the Astro Arc Polysoude PS Series, which includes four power sources in a variety of current ranges. The PS 164’s low, 66lb weight, plus its integrated, closed-circuit torch cooling system, is designed to meet orbital welding needs at the job site or in the shop. The power input is 230/200V, /- 10% single phase, 50-60 Hz; or 100/115V, /- 10%, 50-60 Hz. As with other models in the PS product family, the 160A PS 164 offers multi-language programming capability, an integrated programme library for quick welding parameter research, a real time monitoring system, an integrated printer for documentation of welds according to the ISO 9000 standard, and modern, inverter based power source technology. Programme storage in the unit’s user memory, plus a library of 60 predefined programs for rapid parameter tuning complement its memory card program storage. The unit is easy to use due to high performance, intuitive programming, and helpful troubleshooting features such as Auto-Diagnostics. The new Polysoude power supply is ideal for monitoring welding cycles and for traceability. It supports data acquisition of actual parameters, with control ticket printout via an integrated printer.
