HFT sales hit all time high

Sales of Huntingdon Fusion Techniques Ltd’s (HFT) Tungsten Electrode Grinders have hit an all time high. Mike Dunn, Marketing Manager for the company reported that orders were received from all corners of the world, as customers became more aware of the advantages of this workshop tool and took advantage of its many features and benefits. The high-powered motor, probably the most important feature, allows the grinding of tungsten electrodes from 0.25mm up to 6mm and beyond if required, without stalling or burning out. This high-speed motor runs from either a 110v or 220V single-phase supply at 50Hz. A new design feature of the HFT Techweld™ TEG-3, is the grinding head mounting at the 6 o’clock position. In this way, dust is expelled downwards, directly towards the vacuum collection point, allowing the operator to clearly see the progress of the grinding. The TEG – 3 grinds electrodes longitudinally to eliminate the circumferential lines and ridges that cause arc flicker and wander, so that identical and repeatable results are achieved, particularly with mechanised welding. The tip shape produced by the grinder allows precise positioning of the arc for manual welding without the preferential arcing. An extra collet attachment for the holding block allows short electrodes down to 12mm in length to be sharpened. A diamond wheel is delivered with the TEG -3 that gives the equivalent of three man-years grinding life. To prevent the grinding of contaminating materials, a front cover is installed that allows only Tungsten Electrodes and eliminates transfer of unwanted elements to the weld-pool. Hazardous dust is drawn into the optional dust extraction system, which can be supplied with the grinder or separately for retrofitting at a later date.
