Face mills for “problem” metals

Sandvik Coromant has expanded the CoroMill 300 line of face mills so that they can machine “problem” metals such as stainless steel, heat-resistant alloys, titanium and hardened steel. Previously available with diameters ranging from 0.375 to 0.750in., the programme now includes face mills with metric diameters up to 80mm. The additions to the CoroMill 300 line allow for increased efficiency in high-speed roughing, rest milling and semi-finishing. The CoroMill 300 is suitable for applications requiring extended set-ups. Plunge milling operations also fall within the tool’s capabilities.
