AvestaPolarit in Degerfors talks

AvestaPolarit has confirmed that it has been involved in discussions with Mr Carl Bennet regarding the possibility of continuing business operations at the melting shop in Degerfors after production at the facility is discontinued next year. However, these discussions have not yet resulted in an agreement, as the proposals put forward to date have been unacceptable to AvestaPolarit. Avesta stated that a number of initiatives are under way at the site aimed at helping create new job opportunities for those affected by the impending closure of the melting shop. Work is also under way to finalise manning plans for AvestaPolarit’s Hot Rolled Plate business, which in the future will develop further its operations at the site.
