Abbot wins Iran contract

Abbot Group (Aberdeen, Scotland) has announced a contract win in Iran worth more than GBP 16 million. Its 49%-owned associate company, KCA Iran Kish Drilling, has been awarded the contract by Norsk Hydro subsidiary Hydro Zagros Oil and Gas for a new drilling programme. An initial five-well drilling programme of about 30 months duration will involve the major upgrading of one of National Iranian Drilling Company’s (NIDC) land drilling units. The contract is in support of an exploration programme on the Anaran Block in Western Iran. It includes options for additional wells which could provide an additional two years’ work.
