Scottish company Forth Tool & Valve Ltd (FTV) has re-entered the weld cladding industry with the recent opening of Forth Welding & Cladding Services (FWC). This new weld cladding facility specialises in the cladding of low-alloy carbon steel components with highly corrosion-resistant alloys such as Inconel 625 and is capable of handling up to 25 tonnes.
FWC has made significant investment in two new Fronius 9000 “hot wire” cladding systems. The FP9000 is widely regarded as the most advanced weld cladding system currently available on the market. The system boasts unique features such as fully automated bore to bore programming, which allows the automatic welding of cross bores on cylindrical components. Also included on the FP9000 are step calculation and automatic repositioning functions, ARCNET link-up for PC programming and an industrial-based PC controller with 15″ monitor and parameter display option.
