Jacobs wins BP Texas refinery project

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. will provide construction services for BP’s fluid catalytic cracking unit (FCCU) motorisation project at BP’s refinery in Texas City, Texas. The FCCU motorization project is part of a NOx reduction programme set forth for the Texas City refinery by regulations that require a 90% reduction in NOx emissions for the Houston/Galveston area. This project will reduce emissions by replacing existing gas turbines and steam turbines with 30,000 horsepower electric variable speed motors.
