Lincoln appoints chief of automation division

Lincoln Electric recently announced the appointment of Christopher A. Bailey as General Manager of its Automation Division. Mr Bailey is responsible for directing all operations of the division, which manufactures robotic welding and cutting systems. “The Automation Division is one of our fastest growing businesses,” said John M. Stropki, President, North America. “Chris’s in-depth knowledge of the welding business, customer base, and aggressive sales philosophy will help take the division to even higher levels. Automation and robotic welding will play an even larger role in Lincoln’s future as more and more customers adopt this technology.â€?
In his new role, Mr Bailey is responsible for all aspects of the business, including system design, manufacturing, ongoing technical support, marketing and overseeing key customer relationships for the division. Mr Bailey is a 22-year veteran of the Lincoln Electric Company. He was most recently National Sales Manager, directing Lincoln’s sales programme with major distributors and end-users. Previous positions include Sales Manager for Canada and District Manager of the Indianapolis and Cleveland Offices. Mr Bailey has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University. He is a member of the American Welding Society (AWS), Manufacturers Alliance (MAPI), and the Welding Equipment Manufacturers Group (WEMCO).
