Twisted tubes into heat exchangers

Recently Brown Fintube (BFT) reached an agreement with Phoenix, a division of Kodiak Industries Inc., to provide metals utilising Twisted Tube Technology. Under this arrangement, BFT will provide the thermal and hydraulic designs as well as the twisted tubes, which Phoenix (a leader in the design and manufacture of reactive metal equipment) will then fabricate into heat exchangers. Thus far, the strategic alliance has produced titanium units, with zirconium and tantalum projects on the design table. For many years the Brown Fintube name has been associated with quality heat transfer products utilising finned tubes and pipes. In like manner, Phoenix has been manufacturing reactive metal equipment for in service to the Chemical Process Industry. Phoenix and BFT will now be working together to promote the use of a new technology to reduce the cost or improve the operating results of premium metal heat exchangers.
