The topics covered are the properties, fabrication methods, and design of components using advanced materials, followed up by discussions of actual case studies where advanced materials have made a difference.
Information will be provided via multi-media presentations, punctuated with short videos and reinforced by comprehensive notes, practical examples and group discussions. The atmosphere is informal and questions are welcome. No previous experience of materials science is necessary. The course is designed for engineers, designers, graduates, entrepreneurs and researchers involved with the offshore, automotive, aerospace, defence and rail industries.
