Orbimatic GmbH has released details of its TIGER tube and pipe welding station. The TIGER Welding Station has been designed for the pre-fabrication of tube and pipe work. It incorporates a tube/pipe clamp which is located on an “Easi-Glide” X-Y slide. The clamp also rotates to allow 45º and 90º elbows to be welded to tube lengths. The TIGER head stock uses an internal purging and clamping mechanism which allows tube to be welded to fittings or even allows fittings to be welded to elbows. As well as clamping the tube and fitting the internal clamping system will also remove any slight ovality from the tube and produce a perfect joint fit-up. The head stock can also be fitted with studs when producing tube with bolted flanges to give perfect alignment of bolt holes to make fitting easy on site. The “TIGER” Welding Station makes it easy for a single operator to handle 6- metre lengths of tube or pipe during the welding operation.
