SSAB strengthens Australian presence

SSAB appoints two new heads of business
SSAB has appointed a new Head of SSAB Americas and a new Head of SSAB EMEA Business. Charles Schmitt will be in charge of the Americas Business area. He is currently a member of SSAB America’s management team and is head of the Southern Business Unit in SSAB Americas.
SSAB buys Tibnor holding from Outokumpu
Outokumpu has sold its 15% holding in Tibnor AB, a Nordic distributor of steel and metals, to SSAB. SSAB currently owns an 85% stake in Tibnor and will pay EUR 44 million in cash to acquire Outokumpu’s minority stake making it the full owner of the company.
SSAB reveals the new WeldCalc 2.0
SSAB will release the new WeldCalc 2.0 at the Samoter and ConExpo trade fairs in March. This updated version includes recommendations for Hardox and Domex in addition to Weldox steels and, due to the easy-access user interface and other new functions, the results are even easier to calculate and apply.
Lindqvist new CEO of SSAB
SSAB has appointed Martin Lindqvist as their new CEO. At present, he is the head of the company's largest business area, SSAB EMEA and will succeed Olof Faxander effective 1 January 2011.
