Asian nuclear generation on a high
Nuclear new build levels in Asia are at a 25 year high. With each reactor requiring huge amounts of stainless steels, nickel alloys and titanium, this is good news for producers. In the long term, the industry aims for nuclear generation to supply 25% of global electricity demand by 2050.
HMS to supply pumps to China Nuclear Energy
Russian pump manufacturer, HMS Group has been awarded a $22.5M (USD) contract with China Nuclear Energy Industry Corporation on behalf of Jiangsu Nuclear Power Corporation to produce and deliver electrically motorized high/low pressure emergency injection pumps, spray water pumps and intermediate cooling water pumps for Jiangsu Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant located in China.

Pursall to retire from Electralloy
Peter Pursall will retire from Electralloy effective 30 April 2011. Upon his retirement, Electralloy will begin a strategic restructuring of their sales and customer service efforts in Eastern Canada. The restructuring will address growing markets in Eastern Canada for Aerospace, Nuclear, Oil and Gas, Forging, Foundry and Steel Service Center applications. US Steel inks deal with Lambda
US Steel Corporation’s tubular products subsidiary, US Steel Tubular Products Inc, has entered into an agreement with Surface Enhancement Technologies, part of Lambda Technologies Group, to improve the quality of its tubular steel products. As per the agreement, US Steel has received an exclusive permit by SET to use its patented low plasticity burnishing technology
