Danieli and Alcoa sign letter of intent
Alcoa’s Micromill technology produces an aluminium alloy that is 40% more formable and 30% stronger than automotive aluminium, while meeting stringent automotive surface quality requirements.
Chinalco rolls first coil at the Danieli Steckel mill
The Chinalco Steckel mill plant has been designed to produce 4,000 tpy of plates and 58,000 tpy of coils for stainless and non-ferrous alloys (titanium, nickel and copper) for a total capacity of 62,000 tpy.
The steel plant has a compact design and the complete line, from cast ingot furnaces to the plate finishing line fits into just 200 m.
The line is completed by a bottom-drive vertical edger, to control material spread during the rolling process; a flying crop shear, to guarantee the good shape of head/tail before the coiling in the coiling drums; U-tube laminar cooling to guarantee the proper cooling and ensure the metallurgic characteristic of the end products; and a hot plate leveler.
Tenova, Danieli, NSENGI form strategic alliance
Tenova HYL and Danieli & C. have entered into an agreement with Nippon Steel & Sumikin Engineering (NSENGI) to combine and commercialise their Energiron DR technology with an optimised blast furnace technology and the high-efficiency coal gasification and steelworks by-product gas utilisation technology, or syngas technology, developed and owned by NSENGI.
Danieli special steels rolling mill
Bhushan Power and Steel Ltd has selected Danieli as supplier for its new 500,000tns/yr hi-tech rolling mill plant to be installed in the state of Orissa, India for production of specialty and engineering steel long products.
