Swagelok Company has introduced the Swagelok air-actuated hydraulic swaging unit (AHSU), the industry’s first air-actuated device for swaging multiple fractional and metric tube-fitting sizes. Designed to reduce make-up torque and installation time, the unit features interchangeable, corrosion-resistant, stainless steel tooling to swage 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch and 6, 8, 10 and 12mm Swagelok tube-fitting ferrules. Powered by shop air, the AHSU is designed to reduce installation time and costs. – Swagelok has also introduced the multihead hydraulic swaging unit (MHSU), which properly pre-swages multiple sizes of fractional and metric Swagelok tube-fittings. The MHSU is designed to reduce makeup torque and installation time. The unit has interchangeable, corrosion-resistant stainless steel tooling and is available with a tube-marking feature that indicates when the tube is properly bottomed. The Swagelok MHSU places no initial strain on the fitting body threads and body seal surfaces. The unit includes two feet (0.6m) of hydraulic hose – six feet (1.8m) with the 1-inch-and-over unit (25mm) – and fits neatly in a rugged plastic carrying case that has room for accessories and tooling kits.
