Super duplex strands and wire ropes

Advanced Metals International Group, the leading multi-metal stockholder/supplier and metal processor, announce the availability of new high performance strands and wire ropes for industrial, marine and chemical environments. Aminox 255 strands and wire ropes have been developed using wires in Ferrinox 255, 25% chromium super duplex stainless steel, with pitting resistance equivalent (PRE n) >40. A high Minimum Breaking Load (up to over 50% higher mechanical strength compared to Type 316 1×19 [12/6/1] strand) is combined with a high modulus of elasticity and superior resistance to corrosion than Type 316 and many other stainless steels. This high strength gives scope for the use of smaller diameters and associated fittings, resulting in weight saving and lower cost.
Aminox 255 products offer outstanding resistance to corrosion in acidic media, to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride containing environments and stress corrosion cracking and are therefore ideally suited to lifting, pulling, towing, tensioning and rigging applications in architecture (swimming pool flume support), boat construction, chemical plant, defence and offshore oil and gas.
