Sheffield specialist to increase turnaround

SS Bright Drawers (Sheffield, UK), the specialist in stainless steel, high nickel alloy and titanium subcontract cold drawing, has commissioned a “push pointingâ€? unit for its 50-tonne draw bench. The push pointer, which is fully automatic and incorporates the most up-to-date hydraulic and switching technology, will significantly improve both material yields and speed turnaround of customer’s bars and sections. Darren Barnfield, the company works Director, commented that the commissioning of the push pointer was part of a series of continuing developments by the company begun with the upgrading of reeling facilities last year. Further investments in IT are planned for 2002.
