Russia is world’s no. 1 oil producer

Russia has beat out Saudi Arabia to become the world’s biggest oil producer – for the month of February, at least. According to estimates compiled by the Paris-based International Energy Agency, Russia pumped 7 million barrels per day last month compared to Saudi Arabia’s 6.9 million barrels per day. Such a reversal has not been seen since the 1980s, when the Soviet Union led the world in oil production.
