Reducing and sizing block for Nippon

Nippon Steel corporation will modernise their wire rod and bar mill for high-alloyed steel in Hikari by installing a three-roll reducing and sizing block to be supplied by Friedrich Kocks GmbH & Co., Hilden, Germany. With this order the number of Kocks 3-roll RSB’s amounts to 44 while, the total number of Kocks blocks for the production of wire rod and bar has reached
100. The 4-stand 370 mm RSB will be installed in the wire rod and bar mill behind the existing stand No. 16. The block will operate as finishing mill for bars from 16.0 to 62.0 mm E but also as prefinishing mill to provide all entry cross-sections for the wire rod block. Commissioning is scheduled for the middle of 2002.
