RathGibson closes Lincolnshire, Illinois corporate

RathGibson, a leading manufacturer of welded, welded and drawn, and seamless stainless steel, nickel, and specialty alloy tubing, will be closing the Lincolnshire, Illinois corporate office on 31 December 2011. Executive functions will be relocated to the company’s manufacturing facilities in Janesville, Wisconsin and North Branch, New Jersey.

CEO Mark G. Essig had this to say, regarding the closure: “Having a corporate office separated from our plants is a bad situation for our company. It makes no sense to house managers in suburban Chicago when we make tubes in Wisconsin, New Jersey, and Arkansas. Our mission is to make the highest quality tubes in the world, and present a great value to our customers. Executive offices in Chicago don’t help accomplish either goal.”

RathGibson is a worldwide manufacturer of precision engineered straight lengths, coil, and U-Bend tubing for various industries including power generation, renewable, oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical, food and dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, and general commercial. In addition to the sales offices in Janesville and North Branch, the company also has strategically placed sales offices in Shanghai, China; Mumbai, India; and Vienna, Austria.
