Polibrasil invests in PP capacity increase

Polibrasil, a joint venture of Suzano and Basell, began this week a USD 230 million investment project to set up a new PP unit in its facility at Maua, São Paulo, state. The new unit will run a 300,000 mtpy capacity, replacing a former plant with 110,000 mtpy and lift Polibrasil’s overall PP capacity from 430,000 to 620,000 mtpy. The plant will be fed of propylene raw material from PqU cracker and will set up a propylene cracking unit to receive also raw material from Petrobras refineries in São Paulo.
