MTA Exhibition

MTA 2001, the largest international Machine Tool and Metalworking exhibition in SE Asia, was held in Singapore from 22–26 May 2001 and attracted more than 17,700 trade visitors over the five days of the show. The consistent growth in visitor numbers shown by the exhibition means that MTA 2001 was the largest event since 1996 and that the exhibition has grown almost 33% since 1998. Featuring the most advanced Machine Tool and Metalworking Machinery, Metrology and Mould Technology products from the worlds leading companies, MTA has been the regions premier event for more than 20 years. Europe’s largest machine tool manufacturer, DMG (Deckel Maho Gildemeister), who had a 400sqm stand at MTA2001 are “set to take flight in Asia,â€? according to their Chairman Dr Kapitza. Having established itself in Europe, DMG plans to double its percentage of business in Asia.
MTA 2002, which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 4 – 8 June 2002, will be as much of a regional show as the Singapore one, says Ms Vicki Lim, Project Director for both the Malaysian and Singapore events. A big plus for the exhibition will be the recently announced FADMA (Federation of Asian Die and Mould Associations) congress which will be held alongside MTA2002 and which is expected to bring in over 1000 delegates from all over the Asia Pacific, Europe and the USA.
