Padana Tubes goes global

The general Manager of Padana Tubi SpA Inox Division (Guastalla, northern Italy), mr Simone Sartini, has announced that the company plans to
increase production by 40%, with annual turnover to reach USD 500 million by 2004. Five new laser
machines will be installed to increase production, and special plants will produce polished stainless steel tubes of high quality. Padana Tubi started producing stainless steel welded tubes in 1989. At present more than
100,000 tons of stainless steel tubes and 400,000 tons of carbon steel are produced and sold each year. In Europe Padana Tubi currently enjoys a
market share of 40%. The company is now looking to move towards new markets such as Russia and the Far East, including China. As a consequence, new plants will be installed expanding the production of carbon and stainless steel
tubes of bigger dimensions, using new welding technology. Particularly, large diameters of stainless steel tubes (from 6″ to 16″) will be produced.
