Marathon plans gas line in North Sea

Marathon Oil is planning a pipeline to move natural gas from the North Sea into the UK. The Bacton Pipeline Project is a 420-mile natural gas pipeline from Norway to England that would go into service in 2005. Centrica, the UK’s largest gas utility, has agreed to be a potential gas purchaser, Marathon said.
