Orbimatic GmbH, the manufacturer of Orbital TIG Tube Welding Equipment, has seen an upgrade to its weld purge meter. The new model is named the ORB1001 and has some improvements over its predecessor. One of these is the redesign of the layout of the front panel of the unit which now includes two LED displays, one for the measured oxygen level and the other for an infinitely variable alarm level. The alarm can be set to allow the unit to warn the operator of raising oxygen levels in the weld purge gas. The unit has two outputs which allows it to be interfaced to any type of welding equipment. The unit can be supplied with data logging software which allows details of weld cycles to be stored and recalled. The ORB1001 has also seen the introduction of a gas flow pump that will draw gas from a static area and ensures an adequate gas flow over the integrated sensor. A gas stabilisation filter also ensures the monitor gives accurate oxygen level reading even during the welding cycle. The unit also includes a simple mixed gas selection system that allows the monitor to be used with all popular purge gas mixes.
