Genoyer invests in heat treatment production line

Vilmar, Groupe Genoyer’s main manufacturing plant, has recently completed the integration of a new heat treatment line, at a cost of about USD 1.5 million. The line includes six natural gas furnaces each with a capacity of 2,5 tons and automatic loading from four preparation zones. The maximum temperature within the furnace is 1120°C with a working temperature guaranteed to +/–10°C. To complete the process, the cooling system, with three baths (one polymer and two water) ensure homogeneous and a regular cooling with a maximum temperature of 15°C. The entire process is computer-controlled and can be implemented for the carbon, alloy, and stainless steel used within the manufacturing processes in Vilmar. The heat treatment processes carried out include: annealed, normalised, polymer quench, water quench and tempered.
