GE completes acquisition of Dresser

GE has closed its USD 3 billion acquisition of Dresser, Inc. Dresser is based in Addison, Texas, and has 6300 employees worldwide. With valves, actuators, meters, switches, regulators, piping products and various other products supporting compression, flow technology, measurement and distribution infrastructure, 60% of Dresser’s revenues come from outside North America. The Dresser businesses will be integrated into GE’s Power & Water and Energy Services units, and the acquisition will allow GE Hitachi to expand the portfolio of nuclear reactor parts it can offer its customers. Dresser Consolidated was recently awarded the contract to be steam safety valve supplier for four Westinghouse reactors to be built in Georgia and South Carolina between 2012 and 2014.
