Dupont announces price increase

On 6 August 2008, DuPont Titanium Technologies announced a price increase for DuPont Ti-Pure titanium dioxide grades sold in Western and Central Europe, Turkey, Greece and North Africa. Effective 15 August 2008, prices for DuPont coatings, plastics, specialty, paper and laminate titanium dioxide grades will increase by EUR 50 per tonne in all Euro markets. DuPont stated that the reason for the price increase was increased costs, from raw materials to energy and utilities to reinvestment in production assets. They are currently renegotiating current contracts to permit a more timely response to external factors.
