China: natural gas reserve projects

The National Energy Administration is now conducting a research project to build underground reserves for liquefied natural gas and natural gas and a batch of natural gas reserve projects will start construction soon. Mr Liu Heming, an official with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development, said currently most Chinese cities natural gas reserves consisted of a single pipeline and a single resource which usually pose threats to natural gas supply safety. In order to ensure the cities’ energy supply, a better natural gas supply system should be established.
