China’s Ministry of Commerce will be imposing tariffs for anti-dumping on imports of certain stainless steel tubes from Japan and the European Union (EU).
China made the announcement deciding to levy anti-dumping duties with 9.2 per cent to 14.4 per cent on imports of certain high-performance stainless steel seamless tubes from the EU and Japan for five years starting November 9, 2012.
Dumping refers to a process where firms allegedly sell goods at prices below fair market value.
China had previously imposed tariffs on some US steel alleging that its makers were given state subsidies.
The World Trade Organization ultimately ruled against the tariffs because they said that China had failed to prove its charges.
Also, the U.S. International Trade Commission upheld higher tariffs on imports of solar cells from China.
