Westmoreland Coal Company and Montana-Dakota Utilities Co., a Division of MDU Resources Group, Inc., have announced that Westmoreland Coal Company’s wholly owned subsidiary Westmoreland Power, Inc. and Montana-Dakota Utilities Co., a Division of MDU Resources Group, have entered into a non-binding letter of intent to seek a definitive joint venture development agreement for a 500mw power project at the inactive Gascoyne mine site in North Dakota, USA.
