Tata Steel selects MD designate

Tata Steel reorganised its leadership structure and announced a series of executive appointments. The Board of Tata Steel has appointed T V Narendran as MD - designate, India and South East Asia and has inducted him as an additional director on the Board.

NLMK DanSteel appoints Yuriy Bokachev as MD

Yuriy Bokachev has been appointed as the managing director of NLMK DanSteel, a Danish plate producer and part of NLMK Europe Plate Products. In this capacity, Yuriy Bokachev will be responsible for NLMK DanSteel’s operating activities, operational health and safety, and environmental issues.

Dubai pipe-maker plans new factory in US

A Dubai-based start-up company plans to build a USD 102M factory in Buffalo to manufacture steel pipes for the oil and natural gas industry. Alita USA Holdings’ factory on Rittling Boulevard would manufacture 150,000 tons of high-grade alloy pipes annually for well casings in oil and natural gas wells, primarily in the United States.

Yokogawa wins Mizushima oil refinery FEED contract

Yokogawa Electric Corporation’s subsidiary that oversees Yokogawa's IA and control business in Japan, Yokogawa Solution Service Corporation, has received an order from JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation (JXE) to execute the front-end engineering design (FEED) for a project to consolidate the control rooms and systems at its Mizushima-A oil refinery.

POSCO entrusted with management of Amurmetal

Russia’s state-run steel company Amurmetal will be operated by POSCO. POSCO signed an MoU with Russia’s state development bank VEB in September to entrust and manage Amurmetal. VEB owns 100% of shares of Amurmetal.

AMEC wins brownfield modifications contract

TAQA’s UK business has appointed AMEC, the international engineering and project management company, to undertake the engineering, procurement and construction of the modifications to the Tern oil production platform to accommodate a new subsea tie-back to the Cladhan field in the northern North Sea.
