WPG commits to iron ore startup

WPG Resources has committed to the startup of the Peculiar Knob iron ore project located in South Australia. Set to begin in 2011, the development decision is conditional upon the completion of a USD 120 million funding package from Deutsche Bank in addition to USD 82 million in equity.

Phu Quy island wind power plant underway

PetroVietnam Power Corporation has begun construction on their Phy Quy wind power plant project located on Phu Quy Island in Binh Thuan. The VND 335 billion plant is scheduled for completion in February 2011.

WISCO developing in Canada and Cameroon

Insteel Wire Products Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Insteel Industries, purchased certain assets of Ivy Steel & Wire Inc. for USD 51.1 million.
