Frames wins DPCU contract for storage facility

Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA) has awarded Frames Process Systems B.V. (Frames), a multi-million Euro contract to deliver Dew Point Correction Units (DPCU) for Bergermeer Gas Storage in the Netherlands. As per the contract, the scope of supply includes design engineering, procurement, manufacturing, prefabrication, inspection, testing, and supplying of the materials for two DPCUs. The process installation will contain 12 state-of-the-art vertical Silica Gel adsorption towers positioned in two production trains. The DPCUs will also feature zero emission electrical heaters, heat exchangers and air-coolers. Frames will be responsible for designing and supplying the total process installation in sections which will be assembled on location in Alkmaar. Delivery of the DPCUs is scheduled for the end of 2012, beginning of 2013. The Bergermeer Gas Storage project will construct Europe’s largest open access gas storage facility. Bergermeer Gas Storage will supply the Northwest European gas market with 46 TWh (4.1 billion CUM) of seasonal storage, nearly doubling the Netherlands’ total storage capacity. Bergermeer Gas Storage operations will commence in 2013 with full commercial operations in 2014.
