The AvestaPolarit steelworks in Sheffield, England, has ordered all the technological equipment from Concast Standard to rebuild a six-strand continuous caster for stainless steel billets. The virtually new caster will feature Concast’s Convex Technology®, including moulds, mould tubes and stopper controls, for high levels of productivity, quality and reliability. The AvestaPolarit caster brings the total number of installed Convex strands to over 200, with a production capacity of more than 36 millions tons of billets per year.
