Alleima inaugurates new facility in Gujarat, India

Alleima recently inagurated a new Hydraulic and Instrumentation tubing factory, at its Mehsana Mill in Gujarat, western India. The investment that Alleima made in 2021 has now concluded and is part of a larger growth initiative that Alleima started in 2017.
The high-tech tube mill produces advanced corrosion resistant tubes, pipe for heat exchangers and process equipment across a wide range of industries. Grades range from austenitic stainless steel to duplexes and high nickel alloys. The mill has an advanced modern laboratory to test metals and particular tests are undertaken to measure the tensile strength, yield strength, test for flattening, flaring, grain size, micro characterization, and many others. “As part of our strategy to invest capacity and capability in growth markets, the new Hydraulic and Instrumentation tubing manufacturing facility will enable us to serve our customers locally with premium products in India. The investment aims to capture growth opportunities in the Chemical and Petrochemical segment. There is also a change towards increased natural gas in the energy mix and a shift towards alternative clean fuels, which present further growth opportunities. The Mehsana Mill is an important facility in our journey towards strengthening our footprint in Asia” says Göran Björkman, President and CEO at Alleima.
