Powder metal-based duplex stainless steels

Sintex has developed a high-corrosion resistant Powder Metal-based product tailored for severe environments. Over the last couple of years the company has worked to develop a world-class corrosion-resistant PM Duplex Stainless Steel component. Powder metallurgy utilizes uniaxial compaction, also known as sintering technology. This technology competes with deep drawing, precision moulding, forging and sheet design, including punching. In comparison to the other processes, sintering technology excels in simplicity.
Sintering technology combines multiple processes to be combined and completed in just a few steps. Furthermore, this technology is recognized as a green process with minimal waste, with typically no more than 2-3% waste in the process. Thus, it represents an environmental and economically attractive alternative. Within severe environments, different options of both technologies and components are available. These include, for instance, Metal Injection Moulding, Metal Powder Extrusion and Binder Jetting.
