Alleima has secured a prestigious order valued at more than EUR 2.5M from Mayr & Wilhelm for duplex SAF™ 2205 stainless steel heat exchanger tubing.
SAF™ 2205 was selected because of its excellent corrosion resistance and high resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in chloride-bearing and hydrogen sulfide environments. It also has high resistance to pitting, general-, crevice- and erosion corrosion and corrosion fatigue. The grade provides a high mechanical strength – roughly twice the proof strength of austenitic stainless steel – physical properties that offer design advantages, and good weldability. Mayr & Wilhelm chose Alleima because of its materials expertise, good lead times, delivery, quality products, and deep knowledge of the heat exchanger industry.
