Doosan has selected Outokumpu as the major supplier of duplex stainless steel for its Shuweihat 2 desalination water and power project in UAE. Doosan has also adopted Outokumpu’s concept for desalination. The concept involves the use of two or three different grades of duplex according to their corrosion resistance properties and the corrosiveness of the process environments. Duplex stainless steel will be used in crucial process components, the evaporator chamber, and in associated piping.
