VDM Metals opens service center in Korea

VDM Metals has recently opened a new service center in Korea to provide even better service for its customers in Asia. Shorter delivery times as well as easier handling of large and small orders from a single source were the major factors for this decision. As a result, VDM Metals now has four service centers worldwide and can further strengthen its sales activities in local markets.

Initially, sheet metal, rods and welding wires, made of high performance materials VDM® Alloy C-276, 601 and 825, as well as FM 82 and FM 625, are stored in an area of 1,500 square meters (16,146 square feet). In addition to the basic services, the service center also serves as a processing center and offers tailor-made customization as well as package deals. The machine park comprises a 10-ton crane, a band saw and a water jet cutting machine; this facilitates the on-site production of short-term customer orders and individual manufacturing of 2D products according to technical drawings.

“By setting up the service center in Korea, we can offer our customers an even better service in this important market. Due to the local proximity, we can implement short-term deliveries. The customers are very pleased that they can now receive long-term large orders from our smelting plant and short-term small quantities from one sourceâ€?, explains Lars Klöpper, Senior Vice President of the Stock & Service Center.
