Foster Wheeler Ltd has announced that its UK subsidiary Foster Wheeler Energy Limited has been awarded a contract by Total UK Limited for detailed engineering, procurement services and construction management support to debottleneck and improve the energy efficiency of Total’s refinery at Milford Haven, Wales, UK. The terms of the contract were not disclosed. Foster Wheeler will debottleneck both the crude distillation unit and fluid catalytic cracking unit vapour recovery sections to alleviate current constraints in processing capacity and to improve the energy efficiency of the hydrodesulphurisation unit. Foster Wheeler will work to a very tight timetable to complete all critical engineering and procurement work ahead of the refinery’s forthcoming turnaround and inspection shutdown, scheduled for the second quarter of 2005.
