Tubacex CR lines restart

Spain-based stainless seamless tubemaker Tubacex expects production to restart shortly at two cold rolling lines at its Schoeller-Bleckmann Edelstahlrohr GmbH (SBER) subsidiary in Austria after they were damaged during a fire on 21 December. The fire at the tube mill was caused by welding work being carried out by an external company, said Tubacex. Two of the plants pilger machines were damaged. The plant’s other CR lines were not affected and full production is expected to be reached by mid-January. The company does not expect any loss to production or lengthening of lead times.
