Thick structural steel for heavy users

Ruukki has expanded the thickness range of its existing high-strength Optim 700 QL steel from 40mm to 60mm. It is now available in thicknesses of 6mm to 60mm.
Ruukki’s thicker Optim 700 QL structural steel reinforces the company’s already solid product range. Typical applications include some of the heaviest equipment available. In most cases, the steels are used in cranes and mining equipment, but also in crushers. Large wind generator and oil refinery erections as well as loading aggregate extracted from mines on lorries need components made of thick structural steel, which must also be extremely strong.
The thicker ranges of Optim 700 QL steel have excellent processing properties. It is easy to cut and weld. The resulting welds are safe, which is extremely important for the safe operation of the finished machine.
