The Netherlands: Subsea 7 wins North Sea contract

Subsea 7 BV has been awarded a pipeline installation contact valued in the region of USD 15 million for Wintershall Noordzee BV. The contract is for the installation of 4.9 km of 10 inch OD (outer diameter) 13% chrome pipeline between D12-A and D15-FA-1 platforms in the Dutch sector of the North Sea in 32–40 metres water depth. In addition, a riser is to be retrofitted to the Gaz de France D15-FA-1 platform. The line pipe will be spooled onto the pipelay vessel at the Subsea 7’s Leith spoolbase; the project management and engineering will be undertaken in Aberdeen. Offshore operations are to be carried out in 2004 and will include the installation, trenching and burial of both pipeline and umbilical. Vessels likely to be used from the Subsea 7 fleet are the Pipelay Vessel, Skandi Navica, the ROV and Survey Vessel, Seisranger and a Diving Support Vessel.
