Riser platform construction started
The riser platform construction start was marked recently at the Samsung Heavy Industries yard in South Korea. Project director for Johan Sverdrup Kjetel Digre (from right), project manager for the riser platform and the processing platform Ståle Nordal and head of Samsung Heavy Industries’ offshore division Younsang Won led the formal celebration of the construction start in South Korea.
Subsea 7 to develop gas export pipeline
Subsea 7 S.A. has been awarded the Varg Gas Export Contract from Talisman Energy Norge AS for the development of a gas export pipeline at the Varg field, located 200 km off the Norwegian coastline. The contract is for the engineering, procurement, installation and construction of a 6km flow line and flexible riser system as well as the installation of associated subsea structures, protection systems, and tie-ins. Engineering and project management will commence immediately at Subsea 7's Stavanger office with offshore operations due to begin in 2013.
Angola: offshore installation contract
Acergy SA has announced the award of a contract valued at USD 670 million for the engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of an export line, rigid in-field pipelines, riser, manifolds and control umbilicals offshore Angola in water depths from 20 to 1200m.
Norway: Sleipner Riser contract
Statoil, as operator for Sleipner, has awarded Aker Kvaerner a contract for transport and installation of the Langeled riser at the Sleipner Riser platform.
The Netherlands: Subsea 7 wins North Sea contract
Subsea 7 BV has been awarded a pipeline installation contact valued in the region of USD 15 million for Wintershall Noordzee BV.
