The Netherlands: LNG terminal

The consortium made up by Sener, Techint, Entrepose and Vinci has been awarded the Gate Terminal B.V. project, whose shareholders are Royal Vopak and NV Nederlandse Gasunie, for the turnkey construction of a LNG terminal in Maasvlakte, Rotterdam. The total Project investment by Gate Terminal B.V. amounts to EUR 800 million and it is forecasted that it will take four years to build. The terminal will initially be made up of three 180,000m3 LNG tanks with an emission capacity of 9BCMA, to which two tanks of the same size and an emission of 16BCMA will be subsequently added. As regards to the dock, the terminal will have a jetty for LNG ships of up to 267,000m3, to which a second jetty will be added at a later date. In this experienced group of companies from Spain, Italy and France, Sener and Techint will carry out all the detail engineering, purchasing, construction and start-up of the terminal jobs. On their part, Entrepose and Vinci will carry out the engineering and construction work of the tanks.
